The core of the blade is made of MicroCarbide powder steel MC63, which is surrounded by 100 layers of two different types of steel. In addition, the CRYODUR® blade was refined at -196 degrees Celsius in a special ice hardening process, so that a hardness of approx. 63 Rockwell is reached in the end.
The Honbazuke trigger is responsible for the extreme scalpel-like double sharpening between rotating stones and then polishing on a leather wheel. The handle is held in the traditional D-shape, as is common with Japanese knives. It sits comfortably in the hand and is a real eye-catcher thanks to the wood of the Masur birch from which it is made. The gentle grain contrasts clearly with the damask pattern of the blade and provides a noble contrast. Embellishments with stainless steel and fine lines in red provide accents.
